This contract commences on 1 st June 2025. This role is an excellent opportunity to have a key influence within the service to advance and improve the delivery of service.The main hub for this service is based at Derwent Valley Medical Centre in the city of Derby, but the service is also delivered in Chesterfield, South Derbyshire, the Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, the Amber Valley, Bolsover & Northeast Derbyshire and the High Peak in a number of community settings. We provide inpatient, outpatient and community orthotic care for a wide variety of patients. There is a complex mix of Adult and Paediatric MDTs and extended practice clinics which provide a great opportunity to be exposed to interesting and varied caseloads.Alongside the general, paediatric and community clinics, the role leads and supports the day-to-day delivery of orthotic services within the Derbyshire region. This includes diabetic, MSK and general in and outpatient clinics. There is opportunity to work across company networks and groups including 3D manufacturing, scanning and clinical governance projects. Job Summary: The role holder will lead a clinical team in Derbyshire in assessing patients in conjunction with other members of the interdisciplinary team as appropriate, ensuring treatment is provided based on best practice and supporting the Centre Manger to ensure the highest standards of clinical, operational, financial, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality governance within the region.Within the Orthotic department there are a wide variety of MDTs and extended practice clinics which the role holder will be leading on including, but not limited to: Paediatrics Diabetic foot Foot and ankle Theatre casts and removal Key Responsibilities: Some of the key responsibilities the role holder will have responsibility for: Delivering excellence in clinical patient care to all service users in accordance with the service criteria. Line management of the Clinical Team within their service, building and maintaining a culture which supports personal growth and development and providing mentoring support to less experienced orthotists, graduates, and students; as well as guiding and supporting more experienced staff. Effectively managing clinical prescriptive standards in line with company product matrices, and the service budget. Creating effective professional relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) to support the success criteria of the service. Evaluating, encouraging and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the service and the wider organisation. The role will be instrumental in helping to develop and implement service improvements for the betterment of patients in the Derbyshire region. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and busy team, and be supported with local, regional, and national training to develop their clinical skills to support the service. We aim to deliver a first-class service for users whilst applying the most advanced and exciting clinical and technical solutions available to patients. Qualifications: Either: Certified Orthotist HND Orthotics BSc Orthotics Must also be fully HCPC Registered.
