Are you a self-motivated individual with a keen interest in a practical role Are you keen to secure an apprenticeship which will support you to gain qualifications in a hands-on environment PETA are proud to be working with Relay Engineering to recruit and train a Mechanical Engineering Fitter Apprentice. This opportunity is a full-time role based at their site in Portsmouth. Please note: The role is primarily based in Portsmouth; however you may be required to travel within the UK and abroad for the job. Flexibility is required with travel and overtime. Due to the location of Relays Plymouth business unit and sites they access you will need to go through a security clearance process. Site specific training for restricted areas will be provided. Training to be provided: As a Mechanical Engineering Fitter Apprentice you will be studying a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship. Throughout your apprenticeship with Relay Engineering you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach. Your Level 3 programme will include a level 3 Engineering work-based qualification delivered by PETA and day release for 24 months to complete a level 3 BTEC technical certificate. Overall duration 45 months This apprenticeship sign-up will be in September 2025 and therefore Relay would need to agree a start date with the company for this time. About the role: Joining the Relay Engineering team as a Mechanical Engineering Fitter Apprentice you will be joining the instillation team to provide support and assistance to the site supervisor involved working on various vessels and sites.
