About the Deputy Manager position:
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, enthusiastic, and organized individual with experience in early years to join our team as a deputy manager at Teddies nursery. If you are highly motivated, flexible, and passionate about working with children, this role is ideal for you.
Deputy Manager responsibilities include:
- Supporting the nursery manager daily and assisting the team.
- Working collaboratively within the nursery team.
- Making operational decisions in the absence of the manager.
- Following all administrative procedures.
- Being a positive role model for staff.
- Having a thorough understanding of nursery policies and procedures.
- Assisting in staff training.
- Managing staffing levels and deploying staff as needed during absences.
- Attending management meetings.
- Being flexible with shifts and covering staff absences.
- Conducting fire checks, reading meters, risk assessments, and maintaining housekeeping standards.
- Ensuring compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to achieve at least a 'good' Ofsted rating.
- Monitoring safeguarding issues following local authority procedures.
- Preparing the nursery for Ofsted inspections and implementing recommendations.
Deputy Manager requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in childcare.
- Good understanding of Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and experience working with children and families.
- Extensive safeguarding knowledge.
- Experience working with parents and external agencies.
- Managing administrative tasks effectively.
- Previous experience as a room supervisor or deputy manager in a nursery setting.
- Enthusiasm, professionalism, and creativity.
Experience:
- Childcare: 2 years (preferred).
Salary: £13.80 per hour (negotiable based on experience).
