About The Role

Various locations around Gloucestershire

40 hours per week, part time considered.

Reporting into Project Coordinators

The successful candidate/s will need to be able to support the delivery of a range of active sessions, such as coaching football-based activities on our soccer camps and in community settings. The main aspects on delivery will be on our Premier League Programmes. Flexible working will be required for this role as well as regular evening and weekend work.

Premier League Kicks – Premier League Kicks uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people to reach their potential. We run sessions during the weekday evenings, providing young people with an opportunity for free sports sessions around Gloucestershire.

  • Build positive relations with diverse groups of young people from various backgrounds.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate sessions which focus on developing life skills, along with fundamental skills and techniques, promoting enjoyment for the game across the whole Kicks programme (including Disability and Girls sessions);
  • Support in the delivery of tournaments/matches, refereeing or managing young people, ensuring that they all receive equal playing time and experience;
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with participants, parents, community partners and other coaching staff;
  • Collect, store & processes data
  • Assist project lead with achieving ambitious KPI’s, optimising engagement, and building good relationships with partners
  • Assist project lead with leading/developing workshops, tournaments and social action projects

Premier League Primary Stars – Primary Stars Coaches work within schools to deliver sport and educational interventions as part of the Premier League Primary Stars programmes. Supporting to develop and increase confidence, motivation and aspirations of young people.

  • Deliver sessions empowering young people to overcome potential barriers to education.
  • Support the professional development of teaching staff, which builds skills and confidence to deliver high quality P.E.
  • Able to encourage, motivate and enthuse young people to participate, promoting positive attitudes towards education.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deliver a high-quality schools offer to include curriculum P.E. delivery, extra-curricular football sessions, targeted interventions and education activations that meet the needs of partner schools, subjects including English, Maths, PSHE and PE.

Additional responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead coaching at Soccer Camps – You will be responsible for up to 20 young people, providing; fun, inclusive, engaging, age-appropriate sessions throughout the day
  • To collect and process data for all programmes
  • Working on match days

Coaches will be accountable for the welfare of children and vulnerable adults under their supervision, in line with the Trust’s Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adult Policies. We also expect individuals to embrace equality, diversity, and inclusivity to facilitate a consistent, coordinated, and embedded approach to fairness and opportunity across the Trust. The role may require you to be available on matchdays, which are typically every other Saturday or a weekday evening.

About You

Essential

  • Knowledge of the FA Coaching Pathway and a minimum of an FA Introduction to Coaching Football (FA Level 1) Qualification or Youth Work level 2
  • Level 3/4 TA/HLTA qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Experience of working or volunteering within either school, club, or community sporting settings
  • Ability to plan, deliver & evaluate coaching sessions
  • Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • FA Safeguarding & Emergency aid/ BFAS Qualifications
  • Ability to work within a team effectively & efficiently and buy-in to the environmental ethos
  • Computer Literate
  • Ability to build relationships with young people

Desirable

  • UEFA C Licence/Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity AfPE qualification
  • D1 minibus licence
  • Experience of working in a charity or community organisation
  • Mentoring other staff through coaching/teaching
  • Knowledge and understanding of the charity, voluntary and community sector
  • A desire to pursue a career in the football industry and be a committed, enthusiastic, and highly motivated, showing a passion for promoting participation and love for the sport
  • Experience facilitating cup competitions, holiday camps, and school curriculum programmes
  • Working with socially excluded young people and vulnerable adults
