An exciting opportunity to join one of the South East's leading suppliers of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services. A four year apprenticeship with an in-depth structured training programme based upon the repair of industrial rotating equipment, gaining valuable engineering skills throughout.

Wage: £15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.

Training course: Maintenance and operations engineering technician (level 3)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:30. 40 hours a week

Duration: 4 years

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

Your duties will include:

  • Building of Electrical Panels
  • Gaining an understanding of circuit diagram and drawings
  • Assisting with fault finding, electrical test and diagnosis
  • Gaining knowledge of variable speed drives and switchgear components

Training: Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. College or training organisation: IPS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED

Your training course: Maintenance and operations engineering technician (level 3)

Year 1 of the Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, the learner will attend four days a week within IPS Rochester workshop completing practical skills (Performing Engineering Operations) and one day a week studying the Technical Certificate. In Year 2, the Apprentice moves to day-release and will attend IPS one day a week to continue the Technical Certificate. Starting in Year 2 and continuing until completion in Year 4, the Apprentice will continue to receive regular training contact with IPS all throughout the programme. Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Requirements: GCSE or equivalent in:
