The Fabricator/Mig-Tig Welder is responsible for the fabrication and welding of light to medium gauge steel in line with detailed engineering drawings. The role involves liaising with other departments to ensure standards are met.

Our ideal candidate will have a fabrication and/or welding qualification or a time-served apprenticeship. Experience in a fabrication environment (engineering or metalwork) is essential.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Reading, interpreting, and following engineering plans and drawings to meet exact specifications.
  • Fabricating in various gauges of metal (light to medium).
  • Performing MIG welding, primarily on mild steel.
  • Performing TIG welding, primarily on stainless steel.
  • Grinding and polishing fabricated items using handheld tools or machinery.
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure standards are met.
  • Meeting production deadlines.
  • Adhering to quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Maintaining machinery and tools through preventative maintenance.
  • Keeping the work environment clean and safe.

Successful candidates will have good communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, and set high work standards. A team player with the ability to work independently and a positive, proactive attitude are essential.
