Job details We believe that effective risk management is essential for our success and the well-being of our community, and we are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Risk Officer to join us. In this vital role, you will play a key part in maintaining and updating our enterprise risk management framework, ensuring that we identify, assess, and manage risks effectively across all services. You will be the lead risk champion, working closely with a team of professionals to implement best practices and support the council\’s commitment to delivering on our objectives in a controlled yet progressive manner. About the role As a Risk Officer, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of risk management throughout the council. Your expertise will help guide our staff in understanding risk assessment processes and the importance of mitigation strategies. You will facilitate training, provide support to service managers, and contribute to internal audits, ensuring that the council operates within a robust governance framework. Your contributions will be instrumental in safeguarding our ability to serve residents effectively and responsibly. About you With a strong background in risk management and a passion for public service, you will have proven experience in identifying and mitigating risks, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. A self-starter with strong analytical skills, you will thrive in a collaborative environment and be committed to driving forward the council\’s needs while maintaining a respectful and accountable approach.
