The Key Responsibilities

As a senior developer, you’ll drive our platform forward and deliver quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements. You will collaborate in a dynamic global team based in London with fellow technologists, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.

Key Attributes

  1. An excellent Haskell developer with good software design principles and the ability to write robust code and accompanying test suites.
  2. Proficiency in other functional languages like OCaml or Scala is considered, but knowledge of Haskell is a plus.
  3. Ability to write efficient, clear code and articulate what has been implemented and why.
  4. Self-starter who can drive/facilitate requirements and development effort.
  5. Take ownership and responsibility for the full development life cycle.
  6. Experience working in an agile development environment.
  7. A team player, capable of engaging with other teams.
  8. Knowledge and experience of financial markets systems is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  1. Demonstrable experience with software development using functional programming languages, preferably Haskell.
  2. Experience in the industry delivering software solutions, preferably using functional programming languages.
  3. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  4. Ability to learn new theories and skills quickly.
  5. Experience with using Linux environments.
  6. Experience with developing server-side software.
  7. Willingness to learn about financial markets and derivative products.
  8. Willingness to learn about cloud computing.

Functional Skills:

  1. Financial market domain knowledge.
  2. Investment banking experience is a strong plus.
  3. Derivatives knowledge is a plus.
  4. e-trading technology experience is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  1. Fluent in English.
  2. Strong ownership and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  3. Outstanding problem-solving skills.
  4. Proactive, self-starter, autonomous.
  5. Good team spirit.
