Job Details Company Job Details Senior Services Officer (Digital) Salary : £41,511 – £44,711 per annum (Grade 10) Hours: 37 hours per week Contract : 12 Months Fixed Term Location : Dudley Central Dudley Council are seeking to appoint a Senior Services Officer (Digital) to assist in the management of a number of Digital Projects that the section are working on including the Digital Switchover of the Telecare system, Upgrade of Telephony Lines, Upgrade of 2G/3G SIMs in various specialist equipment and you will be working very closely with the Service Manager and the Electrical Specialist Contractor. The works will be across the Council’s Housing Assets and Development services including Sheltered Schemes and Dispersed properties. Housing Assets and Development services are the landlord for Council owned properties and offer a range of services to tenants. Within this section, there is a Communal Assets and Specialist team who deliver planned maintenance and improvements to homes, sheltered schemes and flatted development to ensure it meets decency and current standards. Responsibilities You will ensure high standards, minimal defects and high customer satisfaction and be responsible for producing technical specifications, feasibility studies and full-on site contract administration together with procurement, payment and cost control to building works and technical systems that primarily include: Electrical systems and infrastructure Specialist technical systems and infrastructure, including those that provide security and support to vulnerable residents Major and minor installation works Term and consultancy contracts Focusing mostly on the new Digital Projects with this Specialist Team. You will play a critical role within the Team and work closely with the Electrical Specialist Contractor, ICT, Manufacturers and our internal Telecare Team to ensure all our Digital Systems are upgraded prior to the Digital Switchover dates in January 2027. We have started moving into the new exiting generation of Digital Technology and our team is at the forefront of making a difference for our residents and this will be an exciting time to join us and be involved in the new innovation. The successful candidate will possess a good standard of education with minimum professional/trade qualifications of: City & Guilds 236/2360, parts 1, 2 and C (electrical installation or similar) City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing HNC/HND in a building or electrical engineering capacity Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) We are looking for someone with proven experience of managing performance of contractors and a broad knowledge of New Digital Systems in the Telecare and Housing infrastructures as you will monitor the progress of these new installation and ensure compliance to current standards.
