We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways Maintenance clients. The role will be based near Godalming and comes with a salary of £72,500 plus car/car allowance.

Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Administer and manage contracts effectively.
  • Monitor and control workstream costs, process subcontractor liabilities and applications, and manage budgets.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the contract.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
  • Generate regular financial reports and forecasts.
  • Ensure all work aligns with relevant legislation, standards, and policies.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Handle contract variations, pricing, and negotiations.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date records for the project.
  • Manage and promote established processes and best practices.
  • Foster a positive team environment and support staff morale.

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • A Quantity Surveying qualification or substantial experience in the field (formal qualifications not essential).
  • Experience with cost management systems and the ability to learn relevant ordering systems.
  • Knowledge of quantity surveying within highways or civil engineering.
  • Understanding of Highways Maintenance (MCHW) measurement principles.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
