We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways Maintenance clients. The role will be based near Godalming and comes with a salary of £72,500 plus car/car allowance.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Administer and manage contracts effectively.
- Monitor and control workstream costs, process subcontractor liabilities and applications, and manage budgets.
- Prepare and submit valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the contract.
- Oversee procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
- Generate regular financial reports and forecasts.
- Ensure all work aligns with relevant legislation, standards, and policies.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
- Handle contract variations, pricing, and negotiations.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records for the project.
- Manage and promote established processes and best practices.
- Foster a positive team environment and support staff morale.
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor
- A Quantity Surveying qualification or substantial experience in the field (formal qualifications not essential).
- Experience with cost management systems and the ability to learn relevant ordering systems.
- Knowledge of quantity surveying within highways or civil engineering.
- Understanding of Highways Maintenance (MCHW) measurement principles.
- Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
