The role

We’re looking for a hands-on Product Designer / Engineer. Someone who thrives at the intersection of design and code. This isn’t a pure UX role or a front-end-only role. It’s for someone who sees the full picture, enjoys designing and building product experiences end-to-end, and wants to solve real problems, not just style things.

You should be comfortable sketching out an idea on paper, in a spreadsheet, or in Figma (whatever suits), but just as happy skipping the wireframes and getting straight into the code. If something needs tweaking, we want you to jump in and make the change, not brief it to a front-end dev.

This is a role for someone who wants to question the problem, not just implement the solution. We value people who challenge assumptions, ask “why” five times, and help us make better decisions, not just faster ones.

You’ll thrive here if you enjoy moving fast, staying close to the details, and working on real products used by real people, without layers of abstraction getting in the way.

What You'll Do

  • Work across design and engineering with an eye for how things feel as well as how they work
  • Write robust frontend React components using TypeScript
  • Collaborate within the technology team to explore and validate new ideas
  • Take rough ideas or vague requirements and turn them into polished, working features
  • Build working prototypes using JavaScript in whatever form, our existing codebase, and sometimes Figma
  • Design and build responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces
  • Help write and contribute towards user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Translate complex requirements into simple, intuitive workflows
  • Own features from initial sketch through to production
  • Iterate based on feedback, data, and your own good judgment
  • Help shape how we work as much as what we ship

About You

  • You have a strong design sensibility paired with a practical, implementation-first mindset
  • You bring a solid portfolio of thoughtful, real-world design work - from problem to execution
  • You’re equally comfortable designing modern user flows as you are writing structured, maintainable JavaScript
  • You have advanced experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks like React
  • You’re confident using Git and familiar with modern engineering workflows
  • You have hands-on experience with Figma (or similar tools) for interface design and prototyping
  • You’ve contributed to production-grade SaaS products and understand the demands of real-world delivery
  • You’re comfortable working in ambiguity and making informed decisions with imperfect information
  • You have the confidence to challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions, and push for better solutions
  • You have a bias for action - you’d rather test and learn than over-analyse
  • You work well in an agile (with a lowercase ‘a’) team - collaborative and iterative without unnecessary ceremony
  • You have a proactive mindset—if something needs fixing or improving, you crack on
  • You look for ways to improve the product every day, not just when handed a new brief
  • You take pride in shipping well-crafted, functional solutions—a true maker mindset
  • You know how to balance visual finesse with technical pragmatism
  • You’re not afraid of backend code - while you won’t be expected to write APIs, you’re happy to dig in if something breaks and the fix is simple
  • Experience in the marketing technology, digital media, or agency space is a bonus
