A lovely, welcoming Islington-based family seeks a gentle, warm and professional night nanny for their 8-week-old baby. This is a part-time role, likely 3 or more nights per week to start off with, and the family would appreciate flexibility (if possible) for some extended shifts (earlier starts and/or later finishes) and occasional weekend work. Ideally the night nanny can start asap!
Responsibilities
- This is very much a shared care role with Mum, and so applicants must be happy to play a supporting role.
- Duties will include:
- Evening nursery duties including nappy changing, keeping baby's room clean and tidy, baby's laundry and ironing
- Helping with the evening (bath, storytime, bedtime) and morning routines
- Supporting Mum with breastfeeding and, eventually, weaning
- Possible travel with the family
- Researching fun activities, classes and playgroups in the area
- Providing support and advice on establishing a gentle sleep routine (e.g. good daytime napping practice etc)
- Focusing and encouraging baby's continued physical and emotional growth and development
Requirements
- Applicants should be completely up to date with current best practice and able to offer guidance and advice when required, while also fully respecting the parents' personal preferences.
- Must ideally have at least 5 years' verifiable experience working with newborns.
- Legal to work in the UK.
- Should be flexible around hours, if possible, and able to commit to 3 or more nights per week.
