Are you an experienced C++ developer who likes a challenge and is keen to keep your skills current and even cross train into new technologies? As an experienced C++ Developer in BAE Systems AI, you’ll be working with our international customers to enhance and maintain cutting edge national security products, and will be involved in building exciting new capabilities. The work will be fast paced and at times challenging, but the benefits of the work will be tangible and real. You will be exposed to new approaches, new technology, and new ideas, so a willingness to step out of your comfort zone is a must.
In BAE Systems AI we believe in high performing agile teams. An ability to be a team player, be self-motivated, happy taking on responsibility, and a desire for team/self improvement are key attributes for success. There will be opportunity to travel internationally a few times a year to get direct access to our deployed systems, meet the end users and in-country support staff. Good communication skills are a must.
You will have experience in the majority of the following (or a desire to learn it):
- Software development in C++ including use of modern standards, third-party/open source software (e.g. boost), writing for performance, and concurrency techniques
- Detailed knowledge of Linux development including build systems, tools, compilers, kernel and drivers
- Knowledge of computer networking and deep packet inspection, particularly TCP/IP but also HTTP, DNS, DHCP, tunnelling protocols (GTP, MPLS, L2TP)
- Complimentary languages and technologies such as Ruby, Python, Puppet and Bash
- Experience of working in an Agile scrum team, and the tooling that supports it, e.g. Jira
- Remotely diagnosing and troubleshooting systems in support
