We are looking for a dedicated Disabled Facilities Grants Team Manager to lead a critical service that helps residents live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a specialist team within the Home First Service, working alongside occupational therapists, contractors, technical officers, and other professionals to deliver a high-quality adaptations service funded through the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a team of professionals responsible for the delivery of home adaptations and grant-funded improvements across the city.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end administration of Disabled Facilities Grants, ensuring legal compliance and excellent customer service.
  • Managing resources and budgets effectively, reporting on performance, and ensuring timely delivery within statutory timeframes.
  • Working closely with Adult Social Care, Children's Services, and NHS partners to ensure seamless support for residents.
  • Promoting continuous improvement and ensuring that the service is inclusive, responsive, and focused on residents' needs.
  • Contributing to strategic planning and development of policies that promote independent living and health equity across Sheffield.

  • Ability to manage complex budgets and monitor service performance.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and delivering person-centred services.

Desirable:

  • Technical or professional qualifications in housing, surveying, or project management.
  • Understanding of construction, procurement, or property maintenance processes.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
