Description
We are looking for an Events, Sponsorship, and Business Development Manager to join the wider Marketing and Business Development team on an 18-month fixed-term contract and support the business across our offices in Leeds, Manchester, Cambridge, and Halifax.
Reporting to our Director of Marketing and Business Development, you\’ll take ownership of the events and sponsorships strategy, aligning it with our broader marketing and business development goals. From identifying key industry events to facilitating attorney attendance, evaluating sponsorship opportunities, and analysing performance, your work will directly support client engagement and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an events programme that aligns with our marketing strategy
- Act as the go-to contact for all events-related queries across the business
- Research and recommend external events that support business development goals
- Oversee event logistics with the support of the Marketing & Events Coordinator
- Support the delivery of in-house events alongside our Content & Digital Marketing Manager
- Drive post-event follow-up and lead nurturing
- Create and manage an annual events and sponsorship calendar
- Develop data-led insights through event reporting and ROI analysis
- Maintain and evaluate membership of third-party networks and associations
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience working in a similar role in marketing or business development in a law firm or professional services environment
- Knowledge of the IP sector and services offered by IP law firms – highly desirable
- A degree in Marketing or a related field and ideally a professional qualification (e.g. CIM)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including confidence working with partners
- Ability to build and manage relationships with key external networks and event providers
- Commercial awareness, with a balance of strategic thinking and attention to detail
- Highly organised, able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Tech-savvy, ideally with experience using HubSpot, SharePoint, and WordPress
