🚨 Contract Opportunity: Senior DevOps Engineer– SC Cleared

📍 Hybrid: 3 days on-site (London SW1A), 2 days remote

📅 Start: ASAP | Contract until March 2026

💼 Outside IR35 | £550 per day

We’re hiring a Senior Engineer with an active SC clearance to help deliver and maintain scalable, secure, and flexible communication platforms for a critical national programme.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of real-time collaboration, containerisation, and infrastructure automation, supporting a big governmental programme focussing on the secured communications platform.

YOUR ROLE

Your role will focus on the deployment and implementation of Rocket.Chat and Jitsi products— specifically streamlining how these systems are templated, deployed, and prepared for future migration and integration with other applications.

The core objective is not just deploying the services, but designing a robust, scalable, and automated process that can be easily reused by other teams. This includes:

• Creating deployment templates (e.g. Helm charts, Terraform, etc.)
• Automating the deployment process (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code)
• Ensuring the systems are migration-ready
• Advising on best practices for future integrations

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Develop and deploy containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Customise and managestack of secured communications platforms
• Build scalable, secure deployment architectures for real-time communication
• Automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD
• Create custom integrations, plugins, bots, and SSO/LDAP connectors
• Harden, secure, and monitor platforms with TLS, OAuth2, RBAC, and Zero Trust principles
• Troubleshoot and support complex platform deployments
• Collaborate with DevOps, AppSec, and engineering teams
• Document everything from architecture and configuration to custom builds

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL

• Strong hands-on experience with Docker & Kubernetes in live production environments
• Scripting/programming skills – JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or Bash
• Experience with Linux systems, network configuration, and firewalls
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitOps, ArgoCD, Helm)
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis and secure back-end infrastructure
