What will you be doing?
ALTEN is looking for a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to support critical ISO 26262:2018 activities across several domains, including Assisted & Automated Driving, Body Control, and Vehicle Motion.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Delivering ISO 26262:2018 work products as outlined in the Functional Safety Plan.
- Maintaining key safety artifacts, including Item Definitions, HARAs, Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), and Functional Safety Requirements (FSR).
- Leading the development and execution of Integration, Verification & Validation test specifications.
- Owning all planned work products through to the completion of the Item Safety Case.
- Coordinating with suppliers and partners to ensure synchronized delivery and compliance via Development Interface Agreements (DIAs).

Engaging in technical discussions, managing off-plan risks, and driving resolution through collaboration with internal and external experts. Proven experience in Integration, Verification, and Safety Goal Validation. Skilled at managing supplier relationships under a DIA framework. Self-motivated, articulate, and proactive with a collaborative mindset and the ability to lead complex problem-solving efforts.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- Degree-qualified (Master’s preferred) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Automotive Engineering or related field – or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in functional safety engineering, specifically within one or more of the above domains.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 26262:2018, particularly Parts 3 and 4: FSC/FSR, ITS/ITR, and SGVP/SGVR.
