TÜV SÜD is seeking a recognized Nuclear Materials Specialist to join our Nuclear Technologies business as a Principal Consultant. This senior role involves technical delivery, project management, and leadership in technical work. Line management opportunities may be available but are not essential.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality consultancy to TÜV SÜD Nuclear Technologies clients and mentor junior team members. You should have a proven track record of project delivery and technical leadership, especially in plutonium and special nuclear materials, supporting topics like fuel management, waste management, and decommissioning.

You will collaborate with a team of specialists, offering expert advice on nuclear materials management challenges. Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues will be a key part of this role, along with shaping strategies to advance TÜV SÜD's capabilities in this field.

Responsibilities and Authority
  • Mentorship & Development: Support growth of junior colleagues through mentoring and project management.
  • Technical & Strategic Leadership: Lead technical projects and contribute to strategic development.
  • Business Development: Engage in marketing, attend industry events, deliver client presentations, and assist with tenders and proposals.
Essential Education, Skills, and Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant science or engineering field.
  • Expertise in plutonium and nuclear materials management, safety, and security.
  • Extensive nuclear industry experience supporting various nuclear materials topics.
  • Good awareness of new build landscape.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and produce high-quality reports and communication.
  • Eligibility for security clearance.
  • Mentoring skills for developing junior colleagues.

  • Masters or PhD qualification.
