Our prestigious Defence client in Barrow-in-Furness are currently recruiting for Risk Engineers to support various projects across their highly secure manufacturing site. Sitting within the centralised PMO function you would be responsible for assessing, mitigating and managing risk across a range of construction focused projects using ARM risk management software. We are ideally looking for a candidate experienced in managing risk in the construction, defence, aerospace or similar industry.

There is an engineer and lead engineer role available, both of which are being offered on 6-month contracts. Based in Barrow-in-Furness these roles require 2 days on site every 2 weeks. The rates on offer for the roles are £40 - £47 per hour PAYE or £53.90 - £63.40 per hour Umbrella.

Role Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced project risk analysis across various projects.
  • Identify and manage risks to the success of the project.
  • Produce Risk Reports and run Risk review meetings.
  • Use previous experience to undertake problem solving activities.
  • Administration skills including Microsoft packages.
  • Apply appropriate project management control methods and tools whether predictive or adaptive approaches.
  • Consolidate expertise from multiple sources, including third party experts, to support project Risk management.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk processes, procedures and systems.
  • Experience of Active Risk Manager (ARM) or similar risk management software.
  • Experience of assessing risk within a commercial business environment.
  • Knowledge of processes within the construction industry.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Communication of Risk assessments.
  • Experience of assessing, mitigating and managing risk across multiple concurrent projects.
Desirables
  • Risk related or relevant PM Qualification such as the APM Project Management Qualification.
  • Experience of managing risk for construction projects.
  • Experience in the Defence or Aerospace industries.
  • Experience with ARM 9.
  • For the more senior role, prior team leadership experience is essential.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site.
