Overview As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are currently looking for a number of Production Schedulers to be based on site at our customer\’s facility in Stevenage. This is a contract role deemed to be inside IR35, with a negotiable rate based on experience and seniority. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to achieve UK MoD security clearance. As a Production Scheduler, you will work on satellite systems within the Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) group. Your responsibilities will include supporting the team with data collation and processing for schedule updates (into and out of AIT), creating production schedules for projects, and illustrating the status, risks, and resource constraints of those activities. Responsibilities Input into and maintain Production Schedules with the support of the Production Control Manager. Maintain the \’live\’ status of products in the AIT production flows with assistance from area team leaders and managers. Contribute to data collection and assist with weekly capacity reviews. Optimize factory resources. Recognize and address bottleneck resources and capacity constraints. Monitor the planning database to ensure reliable and realistic scheduling information. Analyze schedules to maximize future workload with external divisions and the AIT Business Manager. Issue documentation according to the weekly reporting cycle (e.g., work to lists). Assist with monitoring drawing release activity and adherence to schedules. Continuously develop skills related to the production scheduling tool and AIT processes, collaborating across the organization. Qualifications Project Management qualification or certification. Experience in maritime, automotive, or aerospace sectors. Essential Skills Strong logical planning skills and understanding of Gantt charts. Advanced experience in manufacturing scheduling. Ability to work under pressure. Effective workload prioritization. Experience with scheduling tools such as Primavera and/or Microsoft Project. Experience operating an MRP, MRP II, ERP, or SAP system within manufacturing. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to influence in a multifunctional environment. Flexibility, adaptability, logical problem-solving, and attention to detail. Manufacturing systems degree or relevant qualification. Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials (BoMs).
