Join our dynamic Credit Trading desk and take responsibility for trading Credit Financials, including Senior Preferred, Subordinated, and other related instruments. You will play a crucial role in generating value by identifying relative value opportunities across financial bonds and related credit products, capitalising on market trends, and actively managing risk. This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, contributing to the growth of our franchise and interacting with a sophisticated client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Execution & Strategy: Execute trades in Credit Financials, implementing relative value strategies across the capital structure and credit spectrum. Analyse market conditions and proactively identify profitable opportunities.
- P&L Management & Risk Control: Manage daily P&L, ensuring accurate reporting, risk capture, and clear explanations of performance drivers. Operate within established risk limits.
- Client Relationship Development: Cultivate and expand relationships with institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers), understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Market Intelligence & Analysis: Stay abreast of market developments, regulations, and industry trends to inform trading strategies and client interactions. Contribute market insights to the team.
- Quantitative Analysis & Tool Development: Leverage existing and contribute to the development of quantitative tools to enhance risk management, identify opportunities, and optimise portfolio performance.
- Collaboration & Compliance: Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Research, etc.) and adhere to all regulations and internal policies, ensuring a robust control framework.
Qualifications:
- Credit Trading Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing a trading book in credit markets, preferably with experience in Credit Financials (e.g., senior/subordinated debt, hybrids).
- Financials Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial institutions, their capital structures, credit market dynamics, valuation methodologies, and risk factors.
- Client Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Quantitative & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, including proficiency with trading platforms, data analysis tools (Bloomberg, Intex, Excel, VBA), and programming skills (Python desirable).
- Risk Management Expertise: Thorough understanding of risk management principles and practices, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate trading risks effectively.
- Teamwork & Compliance: Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, working across functions, with a strong commitment to ethical conduct and regulatory compliance.
