Deliver full pieces of a policy launch or cross-functional work product that is integrated into an overarching project and create meaningful impact in policy work with minimal assistance. Design, execute, and advocate for policy and standards frameworks, and engage with cross-functional partners to drive changes that promote trust and mitigate risk for our client. Assess emerging issues and topics, own at least one workflow or project area, and evaluate impact of local law updates and active litigation.

Plan and execute the majority of prioritized project work independently and leverage the team for others.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Independently identify and recommend creative ways to evolve or adapt solutions to defined policy problems.
  • Address escalated issues or triage when required, in a timely manner.
  • Deconstruct complex problems, frame policy issues at play, and contextualize solutions for management, relevant stakeholders, and decision makers.
  • Identify trends, anticipate challenges, and create strategies for ambiguous problems that may not have clear solutions.
  • Collaborate within one or more teams to communicate knowledge related to a broad set of tasks.
  • Identify key stakeholders and build networks to contribute to cross-team collaborations and facilitate team-wide success.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment for everyone on the team.
  • Begin to show thought leadership by engaging with external partners on policy/process issues or innovative approaches to policy.
  • Coordinate timelines, goals, and objectives for assigned component(s) of a project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including technical and vendor teams, to support the launch and implementation of sustainable policies.
  • Understand the core implications of policy and process changes in terms of systems, enforcement, and operational impact.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of policy development and implementation.
  • Possess an understanding of the core implications of policy development and implementation, such as systems and enforcement.
  • Demonstrate end-to-end implementation or operational knowledge to ensure policies are developed in a way that can be adopted by enforcement teams.
  • Establish, manage, and implement global product policy and standards with a regional focus and essential understanding of local culture and values, as well as community on product platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors within one or more teams to develop and implement product policies and standards for a wide variety of products.
  • Participate in investigations and respond to inquiries from external parties, reviewing, processing, and responding to requests and/or real-world investigations on our client’s users.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize policy issues that may, today or in the future, affect our client, and understand the impact they may have on business and users.
  • Resolve cross-product, high-impact policy escalations with minimal guidance.
Skills & Experience:
  • Ability to effectively communicate across audiences, situations, and contexts in both a written and oral format to effectively communicate compensation plans, policies, and practices.
  • This includes understanding when one's communication style needs to change or adapt to increase effectiveness and influence.
  • Knowledge of online, international, and multilingual communities.
  • Understanding of the processes by which our client deals with disruptive and unexpected events that threaten to harm them, its stakeholders, or the general public.
  • Ability to use native-like fluency in a foreign language (e.g., German, French, Mandarin, Spanish, Russian).
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of policies, including knowledge of the product platform.
  • Understanding of the internet policy and legal or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working in internet technologies, policy and regulatory environments, and with work regarding the internet, free expression, online safety, and content moderation.
  • Ability to speak and write in French and English.
