The Workforce Equalities Team is looking for a Workforce Equalities Lead to support the delivery of the Workforce Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Plan. As the Workforce EDI Lead, you will play a key role in implementing and delivering our Workforce EDI Plan. You will work closely with senior leaders, managers and staff equality networks to ensure equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded throughout the Council. Key Responsibilities Deliver actions and programmes within the Workforce EDI Plan which includes Anti-Racism, Disability Action Plan, Age Friendly Action Plan Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate and embed EDI into all aspects of the Council Partner with Directorates to provide support, advice and challenge on EDI performance and impact Provide expert advice and support on EDI matters Monitor and report on the progress and impact of EDI. Lead staff engagement and awareness programmes to promote EDI across the organisation. What We\’re Looking For Good understanding of EDI principles, legislation, and best practices. Passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive workplace Role To be successful in this role, your application must clearly demonstrate in no more than 1500 words the following essential criteria: Proven experience in the analysis and interpretation of statistical and research data, with the ability to translate findings into actionable insights. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages to a range of audiences. A track record of planning and delivering key elements of action plans, taking ownership of specific deliverables and ensuring timely progress. Experience in designing and facilitating staff engagement activities, both virtually and in-person. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams and backgrounds. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain momentum on key projects. A sound understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty and its practical application in a workplace setting.
