WHAT TO EXPECT
The purpose of this role is to develop a clearly defined and execute the Material Flow / Physical Logistics Operations from supplier to line-side for EPMC site. The role encompasses the operational management of the material handling strategic partner (Lead Logistics Partner) to achieve right part, right place at right time in a minimal inventory with maximum efficiency. The material flow team will drive value stream mapping (VSM), ownership of the Methods Time Measurement (MTM) model, benchmarking and best in class (BiC) for both operations and facility needs. As such this role is accountable for the success of the end to end logistics operation.
- Lead the development of manufacturing logistics requirements and material flow strategies, ensuring that Powertrain are adopting Best in Class solutions for facilities and process design.
- Engagement with peer group in JLR and other high volume, time critical delivery systems to benchmark quality of service and productivity.
- Drive innovation in operations through a cohesive Logistics Engineering and LLP team with a joint ‘can do’ attitude.
- Innovation for EPMC (and JLR) through the deployment of appropriate technologies to drive timeliness and accuracy of operation through velocity in information flows and system integration.
- This role is driving for End to End value stream optimisation from inbound logistics solutions to shipping for UK, Europe and ROW operations.
- Development of Logistics Operations for current and new Engine programs through timely and accurate input into Desk Top studies, PDL's and programme Gateways.
- Align Inbound to Internal logistics operations to provide a total cost solution in the supply chain.
- Manage Plan for every part (PfEP) or equivalent Bill of Material management tool to develop solutions.
- Lead the development of Value Stream Maps (VSMs) to achieve optimum balance between pallet investment, freight cost expenditure, inventory holding and marketplace space for forward programs.

- Experience / knowledge of Material flow and physical logistics operations and their inter relationships with manufacturing, Finance, Purchasing and PD.
- Strong analytical skills and statistical ability.

- Demonstrate drive, a creative flair with a customer focussed approach and good organisational skills and have the ability to multi-task; manage changing priorities whilst maintaining focus.
