Fiduciam is an innovative, fast-growing fintech lender revolutionising bridging and development loans. Backed by top-tier institutional investors, we are expanding rapidly across the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany and Spain. Our dynamic team is on a mission to transform real estate lending, underpinned by cutting-edge technology. For our growing German business, we are seeking a German ‘Lending & Development Analyst’ to join the team in London.

Your mission:

You will be the driving force behind growing our lending portfolio in Germany by underwriting new loan applications. You will assess loans on their merits, make underwriting decisions as to whether applications proceed to offer, and assist in overseeing an existing loan portfolio. You will report directly into the Head of Germany.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct financial analysis and due diligence of a wide variety of businesses in Germany;
  • Analyse key items such as financial accounts, property valuations, credit searches, bank statements, and business appraisals to make informed lending decisions;
  • Analyse construction/development budgets and appraisals;
  • Price loans and determine terms, considering relevant risk and liquidity factors;
  • Prepare and issue loan offers;
  • Prepare detailed and analytical credit review papers and present the papers to the credit committee;
  • Protect the company by having a good grasp of its policies, procedures and compliance guidelines and by having a good awareness of risk;
  • Own your own loan book, assuring high standards of service and risk management;
  • Partner closely with the Country Manager, Case Managers, solicitors, valuers and surveyors;
  • Play an integral part in scaling Fiduciam to multi-billion success.

About you:

  • Preferably two years or more of underwriting experience in the bridging, development or commercial lending sector;
  • A knowledge of the German property market;
  • A good understanding of assessing credit risk on loan applications, borrowing structures, RICS valuations, land registry records, reports on title and conveyancing and credit reports;
  • Good writing, analytical and numerical skills;
  • Highly organised, dedicated, and perform with attention to detail;
  • A university degree with solid results (preferably in law, business or economics);
  • Hands-on, motivated and proactive;
  • An excellent communicator both written and verbal in English and German;
  • Eager to learn and push your boundaries in a growing company;
  • Enjoy working in an international environment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools;
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
