About the Role
This is more than a senior design position; it’s a leadership role for someone ready to guide teams, shape project delivery, and represent the studio’s values externally. As a Senior Landscape Architect, you’ll lead medium to large-scale projects, oversee teams of 3–4, mentor junior designers, and ensure the highest design and technical standards. You'll play a critical role in the success of each project from initial vision through to completion on site.
- Project Delivery & Oversight:
- Lead projects from concept to completion
- Define scopes of work and delegate effectively
- Maintain project budgets, QA standards, and client satisfaction
- Oversee drawings, contracts, and specifications
- Attend design team meetings and client presentations
- Monitor WIP, invoicing, and forecasts
- Conduct site audits and provide technical guidance
- Leadership & Mentoring:
- Manage and develop junior team members
- Set performance expectations and support capability-building
- Lead resourcing and contribute to recruitment and studio development
- Technical & Design Excellence:
- Sign off on technical outputs and ensure consultant coordination
- Guide detailing across soft and hard landscaping
- Maintain CDM and Building Regs compliance
- Provide accurate time and cost estimates
- Commercial & Client Interface:
- Prepare fee proposals and support bid writing
- Build strong relationships with clients and contractors
- Confidently represent the practice in meetings and correspondence
- Monitor project profitability and advise proactively

Requirements:
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI or equivalent)
- Master’s in Landscape Architecture
- 5–10 years' experience, ideally in both private and public sector work
- Strong grasp of planning policy, construction detailing, and technical standards
- Experience managing projects, teams, and client relationships
- Excellent communication and visual presentation skills
- Full right to work in the UK
