This is an exciting opportunity to experience leading a dynamic, high-impact, people-centred non-profit working to transform the economy so that everyone has the freedom and security to live a good life.

The role will be focused on delivering on our current strategy and continuing to grow our impact and resources. Key priorities will be driving forward ECU’s fundraising; supporting the senior management team as they build out and deliver our programmes; ensuring good financial and risk management; and supporting implementation of our governance development plans.

We are looking for an experienced senior civil society leader, ideally someone with prior experience of an executive director level role in a small to medium-sized civil society organisation. You will have a strong track record of fundraising from philanthropic trusts and foundations; significant experience of programmatic management and also of governance in a not-for-profit setting; a good understanding of UK politics; experience of working in the broad area of national-level campaigning and public policy; and experience of implementing anti-oppression learning and practise in a civil society context.

You don’t need to be an economist or an economics expert, but you must be able to demonstrate understanding of and commitment to ECU’s purpose and values; as well as excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of how to build inclusive, collaborative cultures in organisations, coalitions and movements.

Please note, we can only accept applications via our website. We do not want any contact from recruitment agencies regarding this role.
