A leading global information and communication technology company is seeking a skilled SC or DV Cleared Cisco Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large government project over an initial 9-month period. The successful candidate will be responsible for remote installations, including building and configuring Cisco Firepower devices and onboarding them to Cisco vFMC, under the direction of a technical team lead. The role involves engaging with the service teams to ensure new hardware is effectively supported. This role can either be based at Bracknell or Birmingham and will be based onsite.
Key Responsibilities:- Support remote installations of Cisco Firepower devices.
- Build and configure Cisco Firepower devices and onboard them to Cisco vFMC.
- Engage with the service teams to ensure effective hardware support.
- Work onsite 4-5 days a week to enable access to the production environment.
- Extensive knowledge of LAN Switching technologies, including Cisco Switch platform and Cisco IOS.
- Good knowledge of WAN routing, including MPLS, BGP, and ISIS.
- Ability to work well within a team and develop positive working relationships with other project teams.
- Clear communication skills with peers, management, and customers.
- Experience working with large government customers.
- Self-starter who can implement solutions with minimal supervision and think through issues, providing recommendations for fixes.
- Experience in a service provider environment with a history of operational support.
- Knowledge of government projects.
- Relevant certifications and experience in Cisco technologies.
