About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Construction Estimator to join our clients pre-construction team. This role focuses on the general building and construction elements of projects-fit-outs and refurbishments - typically within the commercial, education, and public sectors in and around London.
As a Construction Estimator, you will lead the cost planning and tendering process for construction works, playing a crucial role in shaping successful bids and securing new projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare competitive estimates for construction packages including building fabric, internal fit-out, and external works
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and BOQs to assess project requirements and risks
- Source and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and procurement teams to deliver fully coordinated estimates
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required
- Support preparation of tender submissions and bid documentation
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, pricing history, and cost databases
- Provide input into post-tender negotiations and value engineering exercises
What You'll Need
- Proven experience as a construction estimator (main contractor or specialist contractor background)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documentation
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercial mindset with a collaborative attitude
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree desirable)
