Steeper Group currently has a vacancy for an Orthotic Technician within the Insoles team to join our orthotic manufacturing team at our site in Leeds. Our aim is to create positive turning points through innovative prosthetic, orthotic and assistive technology products combined with continuously committed clinical services. Joining Steeper as an Insoles Technician means you’ll be part of a company which truly makes a difference to the quality of peoples’ lives.
As an Insoles Technician, you will work with a highly experienced team of technicians and a strong multidisciplinary team to develop skills to enable you to undertake the manufacture of footwear repairs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the insoles manufacturing team, you will be responsible for manufacturing insoles to a quality standard, this includes adding wedges, posts, applying top covers and grinding the insoles to a high finish.
- It is highly important for orders to be actioned effectively and efficiently to satisfy the requirements of our patients and clinicians.
- You will need to be confident at using hand tools, have good hand/eye coordination along with excellent attention to detail.
- You’ll also need to be focused and able to demonstrate that you can operate in a high-pressure volume related environment, ensuring that all work undertaken is ready for delivery within the relevant timescales.
- Be able to interpret clinical orders, work to technical instructions undertaking precise measurements.
- Demonstrate good communication skills.
- Have previous experience of working to targets in line with department standard times, volume and quality.
- Be aware of the importance of confidentiality and data protection in all aspects of work.
- Have a willingness to learn and develop.
- Conform at all times to the Company’s quality policy.
- Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy whilst at work, ensuring one’s own safety and that of your colleagues.
- Be flexible within the department to meet its needs.
