About the Fire & Security Engineer role

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for Fire & Security Engineers to join our team covering both commercial and domestic properties in Yorkshire area. As a Fire & Security Engineer you will be involved in the servicing, maintenance and installation of fire alarms and security systems. Knowledge in fire, security, and warden/nurse call required. Please note we can only accept candidates who have the Right To Work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities for Fire & Security Engineer include (but not limited to):

  • Carry out planned and fault diagnostic work to various Fire and Security systems.
  • To carry out PPMs on Intruder, Fire, EML, Access Control and CCTV.
  • To carry out small works/installs when required.
  • To carry out commissioning of all systems when required.
  • Participation on the out of hours call out rota on a rotational basis. Circa 1 in 3.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, and others at all times.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own or as part of a team to ensure we meet our client contract expectations.
  • To collaborate with other engineers and site staff as required.
  • A flexible approach to supporting other resources as required.
  • Ability to offer Excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications for Fire & Security Engineer

Essential:

  • Good Knowledge of BS5839-1.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to satisfy BS7858 and enhanced DBS checks.

Desirable:

  • 5 years’ Experience in a similar role and working sectors.
  • Qualifications in BS5839, BS5266/FIA Units.
  • 18Th Edition.
  • ECS/CSCS.
  • IPAFF.
  • PASMA.
