Sewell Wallis are currently working with a growing business based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, who are recruiting an Accounts Assistant. This is a great opportunity to join a thriving business with an innovative approach, take on varied duties and responsibilities, and develop your skills. This is a great role for someone with transactional experience, looking for their next challenge. As an Accounts Assistant, you'll be able to take responsibility for day-to-day elements of finance, whilst working in a supportive environment and with a great mentor. They are open to considering both full time and part time applicants.

What will you be doing?

  • Processing supplier invoices for payment, including matching to POs and coding as appropriate.
  • Preparing and uploading payment runs for approval.
  • Dealing with supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Raising and sending sales invoices to customers.
  • Consistently reviewing aged debtors and contacting customers with overdue balances.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Daily bank reconciliations.
  • Recording transactions using Sage50 and Xero.
  • Using spreadsheets to collate data.
  • Additional ad hoc duties at management discretion to support the wider finance team.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Experience as an Accounts Assistant or within a similar role.
  • Experience using accounting software and Excel, with Sage50 and Xero being highly desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high level of accuracy, including while working to deadlines.
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the confidence to self-manage your own workload.
  • Good all-round communication skills.
