Assistant Structured Finance Operations Accountant – Milton Keynes

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Structured Finance Operations Accountant to join our Finance team here at Volkswagen Financial Services UK (“VWFS”) and support in delivering our successful UK and European Asset-Backed Security (“ABS”) Programmes. This is an important and rewarding role as the ABS Programmes ensure we and our European markets have the funding needed to operate, and ultimately supports our longer-term growth ambitions.
You will be working in a reporting focused role where experience working with data and being analytical is key. You will be responsible for completing monthly Investor Reports for external Investors, Rating Agencies & our Headquarters in Germany, working to tight deadlines. You will also ensure the appropriate accounting treatment, systems, and processes, are understood and in place for the impending regulatory and accounting developments relating to Structured Finance.

This is what you could be doing:
- Accurate production of all tasks related to the completion of the monthly UK and European markets Investor Reports to tight timelines
- Ensure all monthly legal documents and payment requests are accurately produced, signed and issued
- Monitor pool performance / ABS deal KPIs and communicate issues / trends with the relevant business stakeholders
- Respond to investor queries and provide detailed analysis and explanation
- Complete monthly Bank of England (BoE) & European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) reporting, as well as other monthly regulatory & analytical portfolio schedules
- Prepare the monthly & annual accounting posting / reconciliations for inclusion within the VWFS accounts while ensuring the correct accounting treatment is followed for the ABS transaction
- Ensure the integrity of the ABS data, including all data feeds through to completion of the relevant reconciliations
- You will liaise with external auditors (UK, Luxemburg, & Germany) on activities performed within the team and for the SPV’s annual audits and accounts preparation.
This is what you will bring to the role:
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Financial Services experience, with an awareness of Structured Finance Transactions (Discounted Cash Flows)
- A good understanding of IFRS would be useful with some progression in an Accounting or Financial qualification such as ACA/ACCA or CIMA being beneficial.
- Experience and knowledge of process management and continuous improvement
- Portfolio analysis experience
- Ability to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, understand and explain financial data
- Good self-organisation with a proven methodical and disciplined approach to work
- Strong sense of work ownership, integrity and confidence to challenge existing processes and views
