The predicted salary is between 40000 - 56000 £ per year.

KGS is a modern, vibrant school around 850 pupils with a catchment area which covers Kirkwall, the East Mainland, Orphir and the North and South Isles. Around 60 of our young people are accommodated in Papdale Halls of Residence during term time.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is committed to improvement and excellence. You will be an empathetic individual with a positive outlook, able to support young people from S1-S6, including the most vulnerable, to overcome barriers to learning and participation. You will be skilled at building effective relationships and working in partnership with a wide range of colleagues to meet the diverse needs of our school community.

You will be responsible for a House Group in partnership with a DHT House Head and will contribute to the development and delivery of the curriculum as well as a range of aspects of Health and Wellbeing, Safeguarding and Transitions. You will be joining a strong team in a well-resourced school with a clear focus on improving outcomes for young people.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children. You must be registered, or in the process of registering, with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

Salary is based on Point 2 on the Principal Teacher Spine of the SNCT Salary Tables plus a Distant Islands Allowance.
