Our client, a prominent organisation in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Integration Engineer for a contract role. This position involves the installation, configuration, integration, and testing of both new and existing software products, including internally developed applications, COTS applications, and the host operating system on bespoke target hardware. Your contributions will support system integration test evaluation and acceptance (ITEA) activities for podded airborne solutions on the NATO JEWCS programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application of discipline domain knowledge to the development, integration and test of software components.
- Peer review of software.
- Produce the documentation required to support the software.
- Contribute to the review of estimates, plans and progress reports.
- Provide support to the projects, systems and operations teams.
- Application of, and compliance with, engineering processes and practices including engineering framework, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the creation of test plans, procedures and steps relevant to software suite.
- Manage test results; successes and failure management and evidence outputs to progress to required outcomes.
- Investigation of faults identified and associated debugging and rectification.
- Compile evidence in verification compliance matrices.
- Participate in wider verification/qualification activities related to the use of software application.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Report and escalate technical issues as required.
- Delivery of your work to time, cost and quality.
- Take ownership and responsibility for assigned work.

- Extensive experience of C++ software development.
- Experience of C# software development.
- Experience of developing software for Windows and Linux, including the installation, configuration and lockdown of operating systems.
- Experience of implementing networking solutions including knowledge of TCP networking.
- Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server.
- An understanding of Configuration Management and Quality Assurance principles.
- Ability to learn new software languages and adapt to other operating environments.
- Good team player with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- The ability to work within a large organisation in a matrix management structure.
- Experience of agile development methods.
- Familiarity with engineering processes, practices and measures of performance for the discipline.
- Ability to obtain a SC Security Clearance.
