This role sits within the Pre-Fabrication Division, a specialist arm of the business delivering innovative design & build mechanical services projects across a wide range of sectors.
The Role
- We are looking for an experienced Mechanical D&B Estimator with a background in design and build pre-fabricated mechanical services installations.
- You will be responsible for pricing projects ranging in value from £100k to £5m, working from RIBA Stage 3 design through to tender submission and variation pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Price mechanical services installation projects from RIBA Stage 3 design information.
- Prepare and submit competitive tenders for projects between £100k and £5m.
- Carry out detailed site surveys to assess project requirements and constraints.
- Develop accurate cost plans and pricing models for design and build projects.
- Assess and price variation orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with the design, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure effective project handovers.
- Maintain awareness of current market rates and supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness.
- Contribute to project value engineering where appropriate.
About You
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in D&B and/or pre-fabricated mechanical installations.
- Strong understanding of building services and mechanical systems.
- Comfortable working from RIBA Stage 3 design information.
- Good technical knowledge and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to attend site surveys and client meetings as required.
