The Production Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production planning within the business. Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, this position is responsible for delivering key performance indicators, managing EDI order flows, and maintaining optimal stock levels in collaboration with technical and operational teams.
Responsibilities for Production Planner:
- Deliver against the business's planned KPIs.
- Monitor EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to ensure efficient order processing; resolve system errors with IT support as needed.
- Collaborate with the Technical team to maintain compliance with stock control parameters.
- Produce daily and evening production plans.
- Update the 4-week plan.
- Coordinate with all departments to maintain stock levels based on external variables.
- Maintain strong communication across all departments.
- Challenge operational performance to control waste and support continuous improvement.
- Conduct physical stock checks.
- Handle consumable ordering.
- Manage and support additional project work.
- Maintain a cost-focused approach.
Personal skills for Production Planner:
- Proven experience in a planning role.
- Familiarity with stock management systems.
- Experience of working in FMCG or manufacturing is essential.
- EDI and retail systems knowledge would be helpful.
