Are you a proactive and skilled individual with a background in Design Technology? TeacherActive is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Mid Devon to recruit a Design Technology Technician for a permanent role starting in September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and creative DT department and play a vital role in supporting practical teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for Design Technology lessons, including Resistant Materials, Graphics, and/or Food Technology
- Prepare, maintain and manage tools, equipment, and materials to ensure safe and effective use
- Assist in practical classroom activities and support pupils and teaching staff as needed
- Ensure all equipment and workspaces are compliant with current health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels
- Previous experience in a similar technician role is essential
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures, particularly within a workshop or practical classroom environment
- Technical knowledge in areas such as woodwork, metalwork, CAD/CAM, electronics or food technology
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role
- A permanent position within a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school
