Specific Duties
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name where possible.
- Be aware of the hotelβs layout and facilities.
- Collect guest laundry from rooms and reception.
- Unpack and count all clean linen against delivery notes.
- Report short deliveries to the Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor.
- Deliver clean linen to the Housekeeping linen pantry.
- Collect dirty linen from corridors.
- Collect rubbish from room attendants as required.
- Load dirty linen into linen cages.
- Unpack and check in guest laundry against delivery notes and deliver to the corresponding room number.
- Complete all paperwork daily.
- Accept, count, and store deliveries, ensuring stock rotation.
- Give all delivery notes to the Supervisor.
- Complete weekly linen stock takes.
- Ensure the linen room's internal and external doors are locked when unattended.
- Follow proper door knocking procedures when delivering guest requests.
- Deliver items such as Z beds, cots, fridges, etc., as requested.
- Immediately action any guest requests received in a timely manner.
- Identify reject linen and store separately for return to the linen room.
- Keep the linen room clean and tidy.
- Turn mattresses, change shower curtains, and sheers as instructed by the supervisor.
- Change bedding to foam/feather as instructed by the supervisor.
- Ensure lights, electricity, gas, and water are not used unnecessarily in your working area.
- Follow the cleaning schedule, using the correct solvents and cleaning products, adhering to COSHH regulations.
- Immediately hand any lost property to the Supervisor, noting time, place, and date.
- Report all maintenance faults to the Supervisor.
- Respect guest privacy by handling confidential information with caution, in line with hotel policies.
- Follow procedures for the security of master keys and guest room access.
- Report any suspicious items or circumstances to your Supervisor.
- Understand all fire and emergency evacuation procedures and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a smart and clean uniform and personal hygiene at all times.
- Wear your name badge at all times.
- Attend departmental meetings and participate when appropriate.
- Attend training sessions as requested, ensuring full understanding of COSHH and health and safety policies.
- Adhere to all policies regarding cash, keys, and controls consistently.

- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
- Comply with Forest of Arden Hotel Limited policies and procedures.
- Work hours as required to fulfill your duties, generally not less than your contracted hours.
