We're seeking a Principal Electrical / EC&I Engineer to take a leading technical role in delivering cutting-edge green hydrogen infrastructure projects. You'll act as the technical authority across all electrical, control, and instrumentation design, playing a critical part in the UK's energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical lead for electrical, control & instrumentation design
  • Manage grid connection processes & DNO compliance
  • Produce concept designs, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Ensure compliance with ATEX, functional safety, and QA standards
  • Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, and site inspections
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle

Your Experience

  • 10+ years in heavy industry electrical engineering
  • Strong HV/LV design expertise (33 kV+), switchgear, protection systems
  • ATEX, Ex Zones, and functional safety knowledge (TUV FSE preferred)
  • Power systems modelling (ETAP preferred), earthing & protection studies
  • Control system integration (DCS, PLC, BPCS)
  • Chartered Engineer or working toward chartership

Nice to Have

  • Experience in electrolyser or green hydrogen design
  • Project development & DNO engagement
  • COMPEX, HV certified, commissioning experience
