We're seeking a Principal Electrical / EC&I Engineer to take a leading technical role in delivering cutting-edge green hydrogen infrastructure projects. You'll act as the technical authority across all electrical, control, and instrumentation design, playing a critical part in the UK's energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical lead for electrical, control & instrumentation design
- Manage grid connection processes & DNO compliance
- Produce concept designs, specifications, and scopes of work
- Ensure compliance with ATEX, functional safety, and QA standards
- Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, and site inspections
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the full project lifecycle
Your Experience
- 10+ years in heavy industry electrical engineering
- Strong HV/LV design expertise (33 kV+), switchgear, protection systems
- ATEX, Ex Zones, and functional safety knowledge (TUV FSE preferred)
- Power systems modelling (ETAP preferred), earthing & protection studies
- Control system integration (DCS, PLC, BPCS)
- Chartered Engineer or working toward chartership
Nice to Have
- Experience in electrolyser or green hydrogen design
- Project development & DNO engagement
- COMPEX, HV certified, commissioning experience
