Bailey Davol Studio Build, a creative design/build construction firm based in Jamaica Plain, is looking for an experienced Carpenter. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential/light commercial renovation. We are looking for creative individuals to become part of a team of builders and craftspeople of all skill levels. This position is an ideal opportunity for an experienced carpenter or the solo owner/operator of a carpentry or contracting business who would prefer the stability and organisation working with an established general contractor.
Key Responsibilities:- Framing decks, walls with door and window openings, roofs with common rafter and straight runs of stairs
- Interior finish work, door and window installation with casings of varying complexity, kitchen cabinet installation, crown molding and baseboard, staircases, treads and railings, and cabinet construction
- Exterior finish work, installation of decking and railings, door and window casings, trim and siding
- Attention to Detail: You ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. Check for accuracy, take direction.
- Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field. Valid CSL and leadsafe certification is a plus but not necessary.
- Friendly and Approachable: You are someone who can connect with others easily and bring a positive, team-oriented approach to the workplace.
- Time management: be able to plan your day and break down large projects into smaller tasks.
- Goal Oriented: Maintain productivity and strong team morale.
- Physical organization: Clean and orderly jobsite set up in a logical fashion.
- Excellent Communication: You are clear and professional in your communication interacting with the team. You have an ability to listen and be open to suggestions and feedback.
