As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving processed material around the workshop and yard areas. The role will involve manual handling, as well as using equipment to load trailers. You will be responsible for ensuring that all appropriate processes are followed and records are complete.

Rate of pay: £22.50 per hour (13 Weeks probationary period CIS / Umbrella)

Shifts: Friday to Sunday, 07:00 - 17:30

You will be required to complete 3 weeks initial training with the day shift (39 hrs Monday - Thursday 7am - 5pm).

Main Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Move material to specific areas following work instructions and instructions from supervisors.
  • Ensure all electronic records and paperwork are completed and accurate for traceability.
  • Carry out workshop activities in accordance with issued work instructions.
  • Loading vehicles and laydown areas.
  • Prepare fabricated materials to be sent for galvanising and/or despatch.
  • Ensure loads are checked before dispatch to ensure items are packed and secured and match paperwork.
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping in all areas.
  • Carry out manual activities within physical and technical capabilities.
  • Carry out pre-use checks when required, i.e. before using forklifts.
Authorities, Interface, Reporting and Supervision:
  • Line report to the Yard and Logistics manager.
  • Liaise with weekend machine shop supervisor, as required.
Health, Safety & Environment:
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner taking reasonable care of your own and other people's health and safety.
  • Follow and adhere to all training received.
  • Ensure that QHSE policies and practices are adhered to.
  • Report accidents, incidents and near misses to the Supervisor and on Mango.
  • Wear and look after issued PPE/RPE.
  • Maintain records and traceability throughout the fabrication process.
  • Not to deliberately interfere with or misuse anything provided to maintain safety and to comply with legislation.
  • Participate in risk assessments and comply with controls specified in the risk assessment.
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes:
  • Working knowledge on yard process, tools and equipment.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
