We are currently recruiting Residential Support Workers for a reputable, Ofsted-registered children's home in Hoddesdon EN11. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting young people in a residential children's home.
You will play a key role in supporting children and young people with emotional, social, and behavioural needs, contributing to a safe and nurturing environment during times of challenge and change.
Key Responsibilities:- Support children and young people in their daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
- Assist with personal care where necessary, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Help implement individual care plans and work closely with key workers
- Encourage engagement in positive activities and life skill development
- Observe, record, and report any changes in behaviour, health, or emotional state
- Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and well-organised
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
- Participate in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, on a rota basis
- Previous experience in a residential children's home or similar care setting is preferred
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
- A genuine commitment to supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- Competitive hourly rate of £12.50 – £13.50 per hour (DOE)
