Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Create and develop 3D and 2D CAD designs for manufacturing (using SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).

Take ownership of designs from initial concept through prototyping and into full production.

Design precision parts and assemblies with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and how products are manufactured.

Provide technical input and guidance to cross‐functional departments including QA, assembly, and purchasing.

Collaborate closely with shop floor and production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.

Requirements

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., milling, turning, bonding, moulding, assembly, jigs, and fixtures).

Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO or similar).

Excellent communication skills; able to engage with both internal teams and external clients to gather and translate requirements.

Prior exposure to or appreciation of hands‐on manufacturing processes is highly advantageous.

Background in manufacturing with a transition into mechanical design is ideal.

Reporting to the Technical Manager , you\’ll enjoy a high level of autonomy and exposure to specialist design challenges. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a hands‐on environment and is passionate about seeing their designs brought to life.
