I am working with a well-established, family-owned healthcare manufacturer in Newmarket. They supply medical and theatre disposables to the NHS and international healthcare providers. With a strong focus on sustainability and community impact, this role offers an opportunity to make a real difference.
As the Senior Buyer reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you’ll:
- Devise and deliver procurement strategies that balance cost and quality
- Negotiate terms with suppliers to secure value and reliability
- Oversee the full procurement lifecycle—from order to delivery
- Track stock levels and manage budget controls
- Run supplier audits, performance reviews, and compliance checks
- Guide and support junior team members
- Work closely with production, finance, and contracts teams
- Occasionally visit supplier sites or attend events
Requirements for the role:
- Extensive procurement experience, including recent experience in a management position
- Ideally from FMCG, manufacturing or healthcare sectors
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills
- Confident in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel
- CIPS qualification or studying towards would be desired
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and communication
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work independently
