Thrive Trowbridge are delighted to be working with our client in Yeovil who are actively seeking to engage a Facilities Assistant on a permanent basis.
In this varied role you will be responsible for the upkeep of school premises, duties to include :
- Ensuring the buildings, contents and grounds are maintained to the highest standards
- Assisting with the procurement process and involvement with costings / budget management
- Maintaining up to date risk assessments and compliance with regulations
- Management of the annual servicing schedule (eg CCTV, water, PAT and fixed-wire testing)
- Routine repairs e.g. glazing, painting and plumbing
- Key holder to include opening and locking up premises as well as out of hours emergencies
- Contractor management when onsite
- Monitoring and maintenance of plant and equipment
What you will need to succeed:
- Proven track record in a similar role, ideally from an educational setting
- Experience with repairs and maintenance (plumbing, carpentry and plastering
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Due to the nature of the role you will be required to have a reasonable level of fitness (lifting, climbing ladders etc)
- A good level of IT knowledge
