Boden Group deliver facilities maintenance services and project works to the Ministry of Defence and commercial clients at multiple sites in the South West and South East. We’re looking for a Small Works Supervisor to take on a vital role in managing planned, reactive, remedial, and minor project works, based from our office near Tiverton. You’ll lead a team of engineers and subcontractors, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and in line with agreed standards.

Main Duties of this role:
- Supervise the delivery of planned maintenance, reactive repairs, remedial works and minor projects, ensuring completion to a high standard.
- Lead, support and develop a team of engineers and subcontractors to deliver work efficiently and safely.
- Schedule and coordinate workloads to maximise productivity and meet service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams regarding all small works under your control.
- Ensure all resources including labour, materials, tools and equipment are in place ahead of scheduled works.
- Monitor team and subcontractor performance through systems and data to drive improvements and maintain service levels.
- Carry out inspections and quality assurance checks on live and completed works, addressing issues where needed.
- Drive continuous improvement, focusing on increasing in-house delivery and reducing reliance on external supply chains.
- Scope, cost and project manage lifecycle replacements and client-requested additional works, ensuring delivery to time and budget.
- Maintain accurate project documentation in line with CDM regulations, company policies and contract requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture by reviewing RAMS, leading toolbox talks, and conducting regular site audits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and looking for opportunities to grow revenue.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on operational performance, financial forecasts and improvement plans.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Provide day-to-day line management for the team, including performance, development, and attendance.
- Coordinate with internal support teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of works.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical discipline with strong knowledge of construction methods and industry standards.
- Solid understanding of building regulations, health & safety, and environmental compliance.
- Proven experience supervising works in commercial or industrial environments, across multiple sites or disciplines.
- Strong risk management skills and experience delivering works in line with legislation.
- Experience in a project or site management role, with the ability to lead teams and manage operational performance.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to complete) and commitment to ongoing management development.
