As a Grit Blast Operative, your job is to clean metal parts using compressed air and blasting equipment. You'll help prepare surfaces to meet customer standards by following clear instructions and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up machines and clean metal parts using grit blasting tools
- Make sure blasting pressure is set correctly and safely
- Load parts into the machine properly
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures at all times
- Use scanning tools to update job records in the computer system
- Work from data sheets to ensure correct quantities are processed
- Watch for equipment problems or part defects and report issues
- Keep your work area clean and organized
- Support health, safety, and quality policies
- Perform other related tasks as required
