A little more about your role:

  • Provide technical leadership for the successful delivery of multi-discipline offshore cable projects.
  • Design and engineer submarine cable systems, including route selection, cable type, cable specifications, and installation methods.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, performing cable load calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to develop optimal cable designs that meet project requirements.
  • Select appropriate cable types, determining routing and cable burial requirements and risk assessments, calculating cable ratings.
  • Design development of array cables, optimising array and export cables.
  • Actively taking part in Industry working groups such as CIGRE, IEEE.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power engineering.
  • Prior experience in offshore cable engineering, marine renewable energy, or oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
  • Desirable - HVDC projects both onshore and offshore; including HV cable system design and ratings (CYMCAP).
  • Strong knowledge of submarine cable systems, including cable design, installation methods, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with offshore design development works, marine construction projects, and subsea infrastructure design.
  • Attained or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • The ability to travel as projects dictate.
