- To ensure equipment of a number of different machine types are utilised to the relevant standards required.
- To ensure all production requirements are met on an ongoing basis.
- To ensure effective communication of condition of machine parts, highlighting any issues or problems as they arise.
- To undertake fault finding activities when equipment problems occur and conduct repairs in line with the Training Matrix.
- To support Engineering with repairs to machines and equipment.
- To undertake basic mini-PM and support PM activities including tool changes.
- Complete any required Engineering audits and perform adjustments / repairs.
- Ensure minimum wastage of materials at all times through effective machine operation.
- Conduct effective shift handovers.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy with good hygiene and BRC standards maintained.
- To provide training, mentoring and coaching to shift operators where required.
- Proactive in Improvement activities and Six Sigma Projects.
- Operators should be signed off against each task and to be fully competent to carry out each part as stipulated in the Production Operative Task Analysis for this grade.
